Charleston, WV – Senate Education Chairman Robert Plymale (D-Wayne) was elected Treasurer of the Southern Regional Education Board (SERB) at its annual meeting in New Orleans earlier this year. The Southern Regional Education Board works with 16 member states: Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia. “I am honored to be elected Treasurer of the Southern Regional Education Board,” says Plymale. “I look forward to working with my SREB colleagues to help education and government leaders advance education and improve the social and economic life of not only West Virginians, but the entire region.” Senator Plymale has been a SREB Board member since 2003.
