“Currently, active duty military members of the National Guard or Armed Forces Reserves may subtract active military duty pay from adjusted gross income while the on active duty for Operation Enduring Freedom or for domestic security duty,” said Senator Unger, who sponsored the bill, “This bill extends the exemption into the taxable year in which the member returns from active duty to the extent that the pay is included in federal adjustable income tax for the taxable year in which it was received.”
