House Speaker Rick Thompson (D-Wayne) has appointed House Majority Leader Brent Boggs (D-Braxton) to represent West Virginia on the Southern States Energy Board. Delegate Boggs will serve as a representative of the West Virginia House of Delegates along with Delegate Linda Phillips (D-Wyoming) who was reappointed to the board. The Southern States Energy Board (SSEB) is a non-profit interstate compact organization created to enhance economic development and the quality of life in the South through innovations in energy and environmental policies, programs and technologies. Sixteen southern states and two territories comprise the membership of SSEB: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, U.S. Virgin Islands, Virginia and West Virginia. “I look forward to serving on the Southern States Energy Board with Delegate Phillips,” Boggs stated. “We have a great working relationship in the House of Delegates, and her experience on the Board is invaluable.” Delegate Boggs was honored to participate in the Southern States Energy Board Briefing in Charleston in July. He welcomed the group to West Virginia and discussed some of the energy related legislative accomplishments of the West Virginia Legislature. |
