A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by
adding thereto a new article, designated §16-2L-1, relating to
prohibiting subsidies to entities that perform abortions.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be amended
by adding thereto a new article, designated §16-2L-1, to read as
follows:
ARTICLE 2L. SUBSIDIES PROHIBITED TO ENTITIES WHICH PERFORM
ABORTIONS.
§16-2L-1. Subsidies prohibited to entities which perform
abortions
.
Any entity, organization, business or individual that
performs, assists, or contributes to the performing of any abortion
shall receive no kind of assistance, including financial assistance, from the State of West Virginia or any of its counties
or municipalities, except those payments necessary to meet the
minimum requirements of the law.
Nothing in this section shall be construed to condone, permit,
or endorse any abortion.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to prohibit subsidies to
entities that perform abortions.
