SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 14

(By Senators Unger, Kessler, Bowman, Redd, Ross, Sharpe, Oliverio, Mitchell, Hunter, Minear, Edgell, Fanning, Dittmar, Anderson, Bailey, Walker, Prezioso, McKenzie, Ball, Deem, McCabe and Dawson)

Requesting the Governor proclaim May as "Motorcycle Awareness and Safety Month".

Whereas, All West Virginians are concerned with safety on our highways; and
Whereas, In order to help keep our highways safe, every driver must realize that our highways are utilized by many modes of transportation; and
Whereas, One mode of transportation on our highways is motorcycles. This form of transportation has also become a hobby to many West Virginians who enjoy the open roadway; and
Whereas, That motorcycles are prevalent on our highways should cause our citizens to exercise caution by using simple safety techniques, such as looking twice before proceeding, always using turn signals and using common courtesy; and
Whereas, This awareness will help save lives on West Virginia's roadways; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Senate:
That the Senate hereby requests the Governor to proclaim May as "Motorcycle Awareness and Safety Month"; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk is hereby directed to forward a copy of this resolution to the Governor.
