A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by
adding thereto a new section, designated §19-23-6a, relating
to requiring greyhound race dogs to be kept in the state for
six months before they may engage in greyhound racing
training.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be amended
by adding thereto a new section, designated §19-23-6a, to read as
follows:
ARTICLE 23. HORSE AND DOG RACING.
§19-23-6a. Six month requirement for dogs.
A greyhound must be kept within the state for six consecutive
months before it may be engaged in greyhound racing training.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to require that greyhounds
be kept with the state for six months before it may be trained as
a racing dog.
