A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by
adding thereto a new section, designated §5-5-6, relating to
authorizing a two thousand dollar salary increase for civil
service employees at state hospitals that did not receive a
two thousand dollar salary increase in 2007
.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be amended
by adding thereto a new section, designated §5-5-6, to read as
follows:
ARTICLE 5. SALARY INCREASE FOR STATE EMPLOYEES.
§5-5-6. Pay equity for employees of state hospitals.
Notwithstanding any other provision of this code to the
contrary, any classified civil service employee at a state
hospital, as defined in section one, article six, chapter twenty of
this code, who was employed during two thousand seven and who
received less than a two thousand dollar salary increase during
fiscal year two thousand eight, shall receive a two thousand dollar
salary increase beginning the first day of July, two thousand eight.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to authorize a $2,000 salary
increase for civil service employees at state hospitals that did
not receive a $2,000 salary increase in 2007.
