A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by
adding thereto a new section, designated §29-3-24a, relating
to the permitting of a firework display on public school
property provided the State Superintendent of Schools and the
State Fire Marshall approve the display.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be amended
by adding thereto a new section, designated §29-3-24a, to read as
follows:
ARTICLE 3. FIRE PREVENTION AND CONTROL ACT.
§29-3-24a. Permit for public display on school property.
Notwithstanding any provision of the code to the contrary, a
permit for a pyrotechnic display on public school property may be
issued if such a display is approved by the State Superintendent of
Schools and the State Fire Marshall.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to permit firework displays
on public school property provided the State Superintendent of
Schools and the State Fire Marshall approve the display.
