CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Delegate Jeff Eldridge (D-Lincoln) successfully amended Senate Bill 529, which relates to PERS, SPRS and TRS benefits and costs. The amendment helped change the effective date on several asset change procedures in the bill and helped add some interest to contribution towards these funds. Delegate Eldridge spoke of his amendment.
“This amendment will help to address several problems that the bill contains. It help our retired people and ensure that they receive the care they need even within this flawed bill.”
Senate Bill 529 completed legislative action on Saturday night. The bill now awaits the signature of the governor.
