CHARLESTON, WEST VIRGINIA- House Minority Leader Tim Armstead announced that Speaker Rick Thompson has appointed Delegate Troy Andes (R-Putnam) to serve as a member of the Committee on Finance for the remainder of the 80th Legislature. Speaker Thompson made the appointment upon the recommendation of Minority Leader Armstead effective immediately. Delegate Andes is in his third term in the House of Delegates.
Minority Leader Armstead said of the appointment, “Troy Andes’ experience and his common sense approach to solving problems are tremendous assets in the West Virginia Legislature. I have confidence in Delegate Andes ability to provide valued leadership as a member of the House Finance Committee.” Delegate Andes will continue to serve on the House Committees on Economic Development and Small Business and Health and Human Resources.”
Delegate Andes said, “I look forward to representing the values of the people of Mason and Putnam Counties in Charleston. As a delegate and a member of the Finance Committee, I will fight for lower taxes, smaller government and better jobs for all West Virginians.”
The House Finance committee post became vacant as a result of the recent passing of Delegate Larry Border (R-Wood). “Delegate Larry Border was a valued and dedicated member of the Finance Committee. His expertise, integrity and dedication to the people of his district and all West Virginia will be missed on the Finance Committee and in the Legislature as a whole” said Minority Leader Armstead.
