CHARLESTON, W.Va. - Delegate Jeff Eldridge (D-Lincoln) has announced opposition to Senate Bill 14, known as the Charter Schools Act, which has been discharged from the Senate Finance Committee to the Senate floor.
Senate Bill 14 was present on the agenda of the Senate Finance Committee yesterday. With a majority vote of the committee, the bill had been postponed indefinitely. This act seemingly ended the bill’s progress in the Senate.
Delegate Eldridge spoke in opposition to the bill.
“I oppose public money for private schools. I’m going to stand with the teachers and students on this issue. “ |
