Charleston, WV - May 14, 2013 - West Virginia State Senate Majority Leader, John Unger, (D-Berkeley), presented two Community Participation Grants totaling $22,500 to the Town of Harpers Ferry on May 13th.
One grant presented was in the amount of $2,500 on behalf of the Harpers Ferry Merchant’s Association for equipment and promotion of Harpers Ferry Music Festivals.
“This grant will help sustain the Harpers Ferry Music Festival and bring economic activity to the area,” said Senator Unger.
The other grant presented was in the amount of $20,000 on behalf of the Town of Harpers Ferry for repairing the roof of the Town Hall.
“The roof has been in disrepair, and I am hopeful these funds will alleviate the problem and permit the Mayor and Council to focus on the other needs of the Town of Harpers Ferry,” said Unger.
