CHARLESTON, W.V. – Senator Robert Beach (D-Monongalia) announced today that he is receiving the 2014 American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) Advocate State Award for Excellence.
This prestigious award is given annually to a dedicated nurse practitioner advocate in each state who has made a significant contribution toward increasing awareness and acceptance of the nurse practitioner role.
“I am honored and humbled to receive this award,” says Beach. “However, my continued efforts in the Legislature to increase access to health care throughout West Virginia pales in comparison to the tremendous work of nurse practitioners who are often times serving as a patient's primary health care provider.”
Senator Beach says he will continue to champion the goals of the AANP to improve the State’s health care system. He will be recognized for this achievement during the 2014 AANP National Conference in Nashville, Tennessee in June.
