SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 102

(By Senators Snyder, Miller, Browning, Foster, Jenkins, Kirkendoll, Klempa, McCabe, Williams and Sypolt)

[Originating in the Committee on Government Organization]

 

Requesting the Joint Committee on Government and Finance to study the Fleet Management Office within the West Virginia Department of Administration.

    Whereas, The Fleet Management Office is responsible for the management of all vehicles for the State of West Virginia; and

    Whereas, The Fleet Management Office must ensure that the vehicles are appropriate to the transportation needs of the user; and

    Whereas, The economic environment mandates that the State of West Virginia pursue efficiencies in all government operations, including whether vehicles should be leased or purchased for the state; and

    Whereas, The Fleet Management Office’s purchase and lease process should be completed in a timely manner; therefore, be it    Resolved by the Legislature of West Virginia:

    That the Joint Committee on Government and Finance is hereby requested to study the Fleet Management Office within the West Virginia Department of Administration; and, be it

    Further Resolved, That the Joint Committee on Government and Finance report to the regular session of the Legislature, 2013, on its findings, conclusions and recommendations, together with drafts of any legislation necessary to effectuate its recommendations; and, be it

    Further Resolved, That the expenses necessary to conduct this study, to prepare a report and to draft necessary legislation be paid from legislative appropriations to the Joint Committee on Government and Finance.
