A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by
adding thereto a new section, designated
§17C-15-51
, relating
to requiring motor vehicles
used for local, multistop
deliveries
to install back-up alarms.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be amended
by adding thereto a new section, designated
§17C-15-51
, to read as
follows:
ARTICLE 15. EQUIPMENT.
§17C-15-51. Back-up alarms on certain vehicles.
Every motor vehicle used for local, multistop deliveries shall
be equipped with properly installed back-up alarms loud enough to
be heard for a distance of fifty feet in high traffic areas. These
back-up alarms shall be automatically activated when the motor vehicle gears are placed in reverse.
The Commissioner of Motor Vehicles may propose rules for
legislative approval in accordance with the provisions of article
three, chapter twenty-nine-a of this code to implement the
provisions of this section.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to require motor vehicles
used for local, multistop deliveries
to install back-up alarms.
