A BILL to amend and reenact §20-2-18 of the Code of West Virginia,
1931, as amended, relating to trapping of wild animals.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That §20-2-18 of the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended,
be amended and reenacted to read as follows:
ARTICLE 2. WILDLIFE RESOURCES.
§20-2-18. Number and types of traps.
The director shall have the power and authority to regulate
the number, kind and type of traps to be used in the catching or
trapping of any game or fur-bearing animals. Notwithstanding any
other rules, traps approved and regulated by the director under
this section shall be checked every forty-eight hours.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to extend the time from
twenty-four to forty-eight hours for checking traps.
