A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated §4-2A-11, relating to reducing compensation of state legislators.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:

    That the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be amended by adding thereto a new section, designated §4-2A-11, to read as follows:

ARTICLE 2A. COMPENSATION FOR AND EXPENSES OF MEMBERS OF THE                 LEGISLATURE.

§4-2A-11. Compensation for members of the Legislature limited.

    Notwithstanding other provisions of this code to the contrary, and subject to constitutional requirements, the salary of state legislators shall be limited to $18,000 annually.



    NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to reduce legislators’ compensation to an annual salary of $18,000.
