Senate Resolution No. 17

Recognizing the life of Gabe Goldizen, a distinguished West Virginian at the age of 107.

Whereas, Gabe Goldizen was born February 22, 1886, at Jordan Run, West Virginia; and
Whereas, Gabe Goldizen married his beloved wife Bertha (Barger) Goldizen, with whom he shared the joy of having seven children, who have given Mr. Goldizen 27 grandchildren, 72 great grandchildren and 40 great great grandchildren; and
Whereas, As a farmer, Mr. Goldizen has learned the richness of life and that its nurturing can bring happiness, health and longevity; and
Whereas, Mr. Goldizen, who is confined to a wheelchair, continues to make visits to a senior citizens center in his area; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Senate:
That the life of such a distinguished West Virginian as Gabe Goldizen should not go unnoticed and that his having attained the age of 107 years is to be commended; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk is hereby directed to forward a copy of this resolution to Gabe Goldizen.
