§25-1-6. Title to property of state institutions; custody of deeds
and other muniments of title; authority of
commissioner.
The title to all property constituting or belonging to the
several institutions named in section three of this article is
vested in the state. The commissioner of corrections is custodian
of all deeds and other muniments of title and shall cause such as
are susceptible of recordation to be recorded in the proper
offices. The commissioner is authorized, as lessor, to lease the
West Virginia penitentiary in Moundsville, title to which is vested
in the state by prior enactment of this article, for a term of not
more than twenty-five years.
