§49-5E-8. Arrest authority of juvenile correctional and detention
(a) Persons employed by the division of juvenile services as
juvenile correctional officers or detention officers are authorized
and empowered to arrest persons already in the custody of the
division of juvenile services for violations of law that occur in
the officer's presence, including escape.
(b) Nothing in this section shall be construed as to make a
juvenile correctional or detention officer employed by the division
of juvenile services a law-enforcement officer as defined in
section one, article twenty-nine, chapter thirty of this code.
