The Committee on Children, Families and Seniors Issues moved to amend the bill on page 1, line 5, after the period, by striking the next sentence and inserting in lieu thereof of the following:  “Beginning July 1, 2019, meals shall be reimbursed at the rate of $6.75 per congregate meal and $7.25 per in-home meal.  Each year thereafter, the annual rate the state reimburses senior centers for congregate meals and in-home meals shall increase in an amount equal to the increase in the consumer price index as published December 31st of the preceding year: Provided, That the reimbursement rate will remain the same as the previous year should the consumer price index decrease or remain unchanged as of December 31st. This provision terminates on June 30, 2024.
