SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 40
(By Senators Sypolt, Williams, Oliverio, Stollings and Plymale)
Congratulating the Grafton Boys' Cross Country team on winning the
2009 Class A-AA state championship.
Whereas, The Grafton High School Boys' Cross Country
team had
an extraordinary season, in which earned it the opportunity to
participate in the 2009 Class A-AA state tournament; and
Whereas, The Grafton High School Boys' Cross Country
team won
the 2009 Class AA state championship with a team score of 57; and
Whereas, The Grafton High School Boys' Cross Country
team is
coached by Head Coach Eva Robinson, who is assisted by Jackie Hunt,
Steve Tennant and PD Louzy, and consists of players Drew Woodford
(Individual State Champion), Jordan Riffle, Seth Elsey, Matt
Stadelman, Shawn Altman, Zach Tennant, PJ Louzy, Briar Hickman and
Michael Daetwyler; and
Whereas, The Grafton High School Boys' Cross Country
team
displayed their strong will and determination for an entire season;
and
Whereas, The Grafton High School Boys' Cross Country
team
will
be remembered as one of the best teams ever assembled in West
Virginia high school cross country history; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Senate:
That the Senate hereby congratulates the Grafton High School
Boys' Cross Country
team on winning the 2009 Class A-AA state
championship; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk is hereby directed to forward
a copy of this resolution to the coaches and each member of the
Grafton High School Boys' Cross Country
team.
