A BILL to amend and reenact §18B-10-4b of the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, relating to providing that state institutions of higher education shall waive all fees for resident students who successfully complete the health sciences and technology academy-affiliated programs.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That §18B-10-4b of the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be amended and reenacted to read as follows:
ARTICLE 10. FEES AND OTHER MONEY COLLECTED AT STATE INSTITUTIONS
OF HIGHER EDUCATION.
§18B-10-4b. Additional fee waivers for health sciences and technology academy programs.

(a) In addition to the number of fee waivers permitted in sections five and six of this article for undergraduate, graduate and professional schools, each state institution of higher education may shall waive all fees or any part thereof for students who are residents of West Virginia and who successfully complete the health sciences and technology academy affiliated programs.
(b) For purposes of this section, "Health Sciences and Technology Academy Programs" means those programs in the health sciences designed to assist junior high and high school students in conjunction with their parents and teachers, to enhance their knowledge and abilities in subject matters which will further a career in the field of health sciences.


NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to provide that state institutions of higher learning shall waive all fees for resident students who successfully complete the health sciences and technology academy affiliated programs.
