HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 28

Requesting the Division of Highways to name a two-mile section of
County Route 62 in Alkol, Lincoln County, beginning at the
intersection of County Routes 62 and 46, and heading east
along Route 62 for two miles the "Dedicated to the Pound
Punchers, Melissa Ferrell, Founder, Highway".
Whereas, The Pound Punchers took it upon themselves and had the
initiative to better their quality of life through exercise and a
proper diet; and
Whereas, The Pound Punchers have maintained a rigorous workout
regimen that has included, but not limited to, walking as a support
group along County Route 62, also known as Bulger Road, in Alkol,
Lincoln County; and
Whereas, The Pound Punchers have received local, state and
national recognition for their efforts to spread their enthusiasm
for better living through diet and exercise; and
Whereas, The Pound Punchers have been a positive influence on
their community and have continued to strive not only serve as an
example but also have a strong desire to make their community a
healthier place to live, work and raise a family; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That the Division of Highways is hereby requested to name a
two-mile section of County Route 62 in Alkol, Lincoln County,
beginning at the intersection of County Routes 62 and 46, and
heading east along Route 62 for two miles the "Dedicated to the
Pound Punchers, Melissa Ferrell, Founder, Highway"; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Division of Highways is requested
to have made and be placed signs identifying that two mile section
of County Route 62 as the "Dedicated to the Pound Punchers, Melissa
Ferrell, Founder, Highway"; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates
forward a certified copy of this resolution to the Secretary of the
Department of Transportation and the members of the Pound Punchers.
