A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated §31-15-12b, relating to the West Virginia Economic Development Authority; the Central West Virginia Regional Airport Authority; and creation of a West Virginia Aviation Hall of Fame at Yeager Airport in Kanawha County.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:

    That the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be amended by adding thereto a new section, designated §31-15-12b, to read as follows:

ARTICLE 15. WEST VIRGINIA ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY.

§31-15-12b. West Virginia Aviation hall of fame.

    Not later than July 1, 2011, the West Virginia Economic Development Authority may enter into negotiations with the Central West Virginia Regional Airport Authority and Yeager Airport in Kanawha county to develop, organize and manage a West Virginia aviation hall of fame shrine project, with wall space dedicated to plaques recognizing persons who are or who become members of the aviation hall of fame.

    The authority may provide funds through a loan, staff support and technical assistance to the Central West Virginia Regional Airport Authority and Yeager Airport to target the project for completion within five years: Provided, That the Central West Virginia Regional Airport Authority and Yeager Airport approves the final design of the aviation hall of fame and has the commitment, support and assistance from private funding to locate the aviation hall of fame in Kanawha County at Yeager Airport.

    NOTE: The purpose of this bill is create a West Virginia Aviation Hall of Fame at Yeager Airport in Kanawha County, subject to approval of the Central West Virginia Regional Airport Authority and a private funding commitment.

    §31-15-12b is new; therefore, it has been completely underscored.
