§61-5-24. Corrupt summoning of jurors to find biased verdict;
A sheriff or other officer who, corruptly, or through favor or
ill will, shall summon a juror, with intent that such juror shall
find a verdict for or against any party to an action, or shall be
biased in his conduct as such juror, shall be guilty of a
misdemeanor, and, upon conviction, shall be confined in jail not
exceeding six months and fined not exceeding five hundred dollars,
and shall forfeit his office and be forever incapable of holding
any office of honor, trust or profit in this state.
