§49-7-6. Enforcement of order for support from wages.
If a person ordered to pay for the support, maintenance and
education of a child pursuant to a proceeding under chapter
forty-eight or forty-nine of this code is employed for wages,
salary or commission, the court or judge may order that the sum to
be paid by him shall be paid to the guardian, institution,
organization or person having custody of such child, out of such
wages, salary or commission, and that he shall execute an
assignment thereof pro tanto. The court or judge may also order
the person to report to the court or judge, from time to time, his
place of employment and the amount earned by him. Upon his failure
to obey the order of the court or judge, after proper notice and
hearing, he may be punished as for contempt of court.
