§16-8-1. Definitions.
(a) "Electrology" means the art and practice relating to the
removing of hair from the normal skin of the body by the
application of an electric current to the hair papilla by means
of a needle or needles, or by the application of an electronic
tweezer having the electrical current flow through the hair and
the follicle as in conventional electrolysis.
(b) "Electrolysis" means the process by which hair is
removed from the normal skin by the application of an electric
current to the hair root by means of a needle, needles or
electronic tweezer, whether the process employs direct electric
current to the hair root or by means of shortwave alternating
electric current.
