Charleston, WV - Senator John Unger, (D-Berkeley), and Senator Herb Snyder, (D-Jefferson), announced today that they will be presenting $33,250 in grant funds to Berkeley Senior Services on October 24 at 3:00 p.m. during the Board of Directors meeting.
"Seniors' access to transportation in our community is vital. So many of our seniors are simply unable to travel to their doctor appointments, to pick-up their medicines or even to get their groceries," said Senator Unger, “These grants will help ensure our seniors have transportation. The funds will be used to purchase a minivan for the Berkeley County Senior Center."
"The seniors in our community are very important to us," said Senator Snyder, "We look for every opportunity to assist them through the Community Participation Grant Program."
