Charleston, WV- The West Virginia Senate presented the Martinsburg High School football team with Senate Resolution 41 today, formally congratulating the team on its 2011 perfect season and West Virginia State AAA Championship win.
“I am very proud of the Bulldogs and pleased my colleagues joined me in recognizing the team’s incredible back-to-back state titles,” said Senate Majority Leader John Unger II (D - Berkeley), lead sponsor of the resolution.
Senate Resolution 41 highlighted the team’s accomplishments and individually recognized the players, coaches, cheerleaders, and support staff.
In addition to receiving the resolution in the Senate Chamber, the football team and coaches met with Governor Earl Ray Tomblin and toured the State Capitol Building, Museum, and Supreme Court Chambers.
Senators Robert Plymale (D - Wayne), Roman Prezioso (D- Marion), William Laird IV (D- Fayette), Ron Stollings (D - Boone), Orphy Klempa (D - Ohio), Herb Snyder (D - Jefferson), and Senate President Jeff Kessler (D - Marshall) co-sponsored the resolution.
