Delegate Larry A. Williams (D-Preston County) is proud to announce that the House has approved funds for the West Virginia University Rifle Team. This week the House has approved the budget for the upcoming year and $100,000 has been set aside for the WVU rifle team. The rifle team has had to struggle since the university was forced to cut their funding from the school budget. “ The WVU rifle team is an important symbol for this state and I would like to express thanks to the Delegates from Monongalia County as well as across the state for approving funding for this impressive and worthwhile program.” said Delegate Williams. House Bill 2005, the Budget Bill, will be authorized next week during a six day extended session approved by the Governor. “My hope is that when the Senate and the House meet in conference, this provision will remain intact and we continue to support this highly successful group of student athletes.” said Delegate Williams.
