Senator Cookman Obtains Small Cities Block Grant for Mineral County

Charleston, WV - January 6, 2014 - West Virginia State Senator Donald Cookman, (D-Hampshire), received a $1.3 million Small Cities Block Grant for the Mineral County Commission at a ceremony held today at the Capitol in Charleston.

The grant will be used for the Fountain PSD Water Extension Project. This extension is expected to benefit 413 households and the surrounding areas.

“This grant will go a long way to provide much needed new water service to several hundred more residents in the county,” said Senator Cookman.

“The total project cost is estimated at $10.5 million and will provide new water service along State Route 46 and Cabin Run, County Route 9, Dry Run Road, Antioch-Parrell Hollow, Route 50 Patterson Creek, Shirley's Lane, Rogers Road and Beaver Ridge in Mineral County,” said Cookman.
