Delegates Honor 2008 Ohio County Division of Corrections Employee of the Year

CHARLESTON - State Delegates Orphy Klempa (D - Ohio) and Tal Hutchins (D - Ohio) met with Ohio County Corrections’ Program Specialist Deborah Croft, the 2008 Ohio County Division of Corrections Employee of the Year.

“This is a prestigious award given only to those who excel past expectations every day they work,” said Delegate Klempa. “Deborah Croft deserves this honor and I am glad she works in Ohio county.”

Croft is a Corrections Program Specialist, and served as Ohio County Corrections’ American Correction Association coordinator who singlehandedly made sure the Ohio County Corrections facility was ACA accredited.

The national accreditation program offers facilities the benefits of improved staff training, assessment of program strengths and weaknesses, defense against lawsuits, establishment of measurable criteria for upgrading operations, improved staff morale and professionalism, reduced liability insurance costs and performance based benefits.

“Deborah was the first to jump up and take the lead on this,” said Delegate Klempa. “On behalf of myself and Delegate Hutchins, we are proud of Deborah’s award, and are happy for both her and the Ohio County Corrections. Her work will greatly improve the facility as a whole.”
