Delegate Miller First GOP Woman To Preside Over House Of Delegates

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Delegate Carol Miller, R-Cabell, on Monday became the first Republican woman to preside over the House of Delegates. Miller has served in the House since January 2007, and was named the Assistant Majority Leader in 2015 when Republicans gained majority in the House.

“I am very honored and proud to have been able to step in for the Speaker of the House and to be a part of this historic moment as a Republican woman,” Miller said.

Along with being the Assistant Majority Leader, Delegate Miller is the Chair of the Committee on Small Business, Entrepreneurship and Economic Development. She is also on the following committees: Agriculture and Natural Resources, Finance and House Rules.

“Our leadership team works very well together,” Miller said. “It is very important for Cabell and Lincoln counties to have a voice in leadership, and I am proud to be that voice.”
