The purpose of this bill is to terminate the Women’s Commission.
The Department of Health and Human Resources administers the Women's Commission under §29, Article 20, of the West Virginia Code. The proposed legislation, if adopted, will result in a one time expiration of the General Revenue Fund (0400-19100) and Women's Commission Special Operating Account Fund (5450), which have current balances of $65,902 and $11,634 respectively, as of 2/6/19. The Department estimates the fiscal impact of this legislation would be an annual decrease of expenditures of approximately $69,914, based on SFY2018 data.
The Women's Commission currently has an Executive Director position that splits time with the James "Tiger" Morton Catastrophic Illness Commission.
