Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
House Bill 2862, if enacted, would modify the purpose of the Underwood Smith Scholarship beginning in 2020 by establishing a scholarship preference for applicants pursuing math and science teaching careers. It would also modify selection criteria for the award of scholarships and modify scholarship agreement condition requirements. In addition, the legislation would modify scholarship renewal requirements and modify the purpose of the teacher scholarship program to those pursuing careers in teaching math or science. The legislation would also modify scholarship agreement condition requirements for teachers and modify scholarship renewal requirements for teachers.
No additional costs are associated with this Legislation.
