Fiscal Note Summary
Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
The purpose of this bill is to allow owners of antique military vehicles to display alternate registration insignia that is compatible with the vehicle’s original markings in lieu of a registration plate.
The Division expects the initial expenses to implement this bill to be from programming costs totaling $6,590. This includes programming for the mainframe at $3,600, and programming for the cash register at $2,990.
However, vehicle registration numbers are limited to 8 characters due to the constraints of the mainframe. Historically accurate insignia would exceed this limitation.
