All state, county, city and other local government employees with commercial driver's licenses shall have valid and current medical evaluation certification statuses and, if applicable, medical waivers. There is no fiscal impact relating to state or county education agencies.

Explanation of above estimates (including long-range effect):


The primary group affected under the scope of the Department of Education requiring CDL licenses are school bus drivers. School bus drivers are already mandated to undergo annual physical examinations. Other drivers subject to required CDL licenses are certain truck drivers, such as food distribution drivers, that are minimal in number and also already undergo physical examinations.
