Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
This bill increases the fee for Sheriff's Service of Process from $20 to $25. The $5 increase is distributed by placing $3 in the Coutny General Fund and $2 in the Deputy Sheriff's Retirement Fund.

Explanation of above estimates (including long-range effect):
The above estimate of increase in the Sheriff's Service of Process Fee is based on the amount included in the county budgets for all 55 counties for FY-2005. The total amount is divided by $20 to determine the number of cases and then multiplied by $5 to determine the increase. The total for all 55 counties is $218,792 with 60% to the County Commission ($131,275) and 40% to the Deputy Sheriff's Retirement Fund ($87,517).
