As of June 30, 2016, 600 inmates were incarcerated in the WVDOC for Burglary as their most serious crime. Based on an estimate that the average Burglary offender would spend an average of 2 additional years incarcerated for this crime, the WVDOC would estimate:
Year 1 Cost $1,384,200.00
Year 2 Cost $2,768,400.00
Year 3 Cost $2,768,400.00
(based on 50 inmates impacted and the FY2016 average annual inmate cost of $27,684).
