Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
The change in legislation moving Private Investigator and Security Guard fees from the Secretary of State Office to the West Virginia State Police will cause an estimated decrease in the General Funds. In fiscal year 2016, general revenue will decrease by $37,375.00 and an estimated decrease in the General fund in the following years of $74,750.00

The estimate for fiscal year 2016 and the following fiscal years are based on the actual amount of Private Investigator and Security Guard fees for the first six months of fiscal year 2015.

This estimate assumes no large increase or decrease in the number of Private Investigators and Security Guards in the State of West Virginia in future years.
