Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.


This bill increases the number of circuit judges serving the 5th Judicial Circuit from two judges to three judges; serving the 10th circuit from three judges to four judges; serving the 23rd Judicial Circuit from five judges to six judges; and 26th Judicial Circuit from one judge to two judges. The bill has an internal effective date of January 1, 2017.

Next fiscal year, the costs will only be for half year but since it will be the first year, it is half of the 1st year figure to cover the start-up costs association with a new position. Full implementation will be in FY18 at 1,846,716
