Explanation of above estimates (including long-range effect):
The total cost to personal services is projected to be $336,000. Fringe benefits, which include retirement, social security match and worker’s compensation will increase by $66,999. The total cost to the general revenue fund only for personal services and fringe benefits is $371,335. The remaining cost, or $31,664, will accrue from appropriated and non-appropriated special revenue and federal funds.
Memorandum
An FY 06 Improvement Above Current Level funding request (Priority No. 3) has been submitted by the WVSP to change the longevity to $1,200 when a civilian reaches their initial five year employment anniversary and for every three year interval thereafter effective with those employees becoming eligible for either increase on or after July 1, 2005. Since the greatest financial impact occurs in 3 year cycles, and given that the law initially became effective July 1, 2001, it would not be until July 1, 2007 when most employees would receive their $1,200 longevity.
