Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.

The purpose of this bill is to require agencies to hold jobs for certain disabled veterans seeking or receiving treatment for service-related injury. The Department of Administration has no knowledge as to how many disabled veterans are currently employed. Therefore, it is impossible to determine the fiscal impact to the state with the passage of this bill.

Explanation of above estimates (including long-range effect):

As the bill is currently written there is no time limit for retaining the position. I would recommend a time limit. In order to be consistent with USERRA, Worker's Comp, FMLA and our medical leave, you may consider changing "his or her position retained" to "or comparable position". There will be details to address so the promulgation of legislative rules is suggested.
