Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.


Senate Bill 420, if enacted would add Workforce West Virginia and the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals to the existing entities that are to enter into a state data sharing compact; add workforce data to the data that is to be included in the P-20W Longitudinal Data System; and create a governing board of the P-20W Longitudinal Data System. To address the requirements of the bill, two additional information technology positions would need to be funded. These information technology professionals would be hired by the West Virginia Network at a total annual cost of approximately $148,000.

Explanation of above estimates (including long-range effect):


The salary for each of the two positions would be $60,000 for a total salary expense of $120,000. It is estimated that fringe benefits costs would be approximately 23 percent of the total salary expense or $27,600. The total annual salary and estimated fringe benefits costs would be $147,600.
