Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
The purpose of this bill is to prohibit the federal government from requiring state agencies to enforce the provisions of federal health care legislation.
The Department of Health and Human Resources (Department) cannot determine the fiscal impact of the proposed legislation. The fiscal impact of the provisions of federal health care legislation and thus the fiscal impact of not enforcing those provisions, could result in the loss of federal funding. If certain actions are required of the state to receive federal health care funding, and those actions are not taken, there is potential for funding to be lost.
