Fiscal Note Summary
Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
The stated purpose of this bill is to remove the expiration date for the tax rate on eligible acute care hospitals.
As written, this bill removes the current expiration date of June 30, 2013 for the tax on certain eligible acute care hospitals. According to our interpretation, passage of this bill would provide revenue for the Medicaid State Share Fund of roughly $22.1 million in FY2014 and roughly $29.4 million each year thereafter.
There would be no additional administrative costs to the State Tax Department associated with passage of this bill.
