Fiscal Note Summary
Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
The purpose of this bill is to increase the cap on the number of dealer plates that may be issued to dealers of new and used large commercial-type vehicles from 4 demonstration plates to 14. Because these are additional plates, the $50 fee for each plate would apply.
Currently there are 15 new motor vehicle dealers and 39 used large, commercial-type motor vehicle dealers that use these demonstration plates. These dealers currently purchase a total of 89 demonstration plates. There are two current dealerships that have indicated they would purchase additional demonstration plates.
A minimal amount of handling would be created by issuing these additional plates. It is estimated that the current expenses would be increased by $5 per dealer.
