Fiscal Note Summary
Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
The purpose of this bill is to allow the temporary reassignment of an injured or ill service person who is unable to perform the duties of his/her regular job classification to another job classification. The employee would receive the same compensation and benefits as he/she would have received in his/her regular classification. The temporary assignment must be the result of a work related illness or injury, is limited to one calendar year, and does not create a vacancy requiring posting. The service person must not be discouraged nor prohibited from returning to his/her regular position on a light duty basis. Temporary reassignments meeting these conditions are permitted but not required.

Explanation of above estimates (including long-range effect):
Because the temporary assignments are permitted at the discretion of the county board, but are not required, there would be very minimal impact on county boards of education.
