Fiscal Note Summary
Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
The additional appointments will allow the Superintendent to assign senior-level supervision to manage specific disciplines within the agency.
The estimated cost of this legislation is based upon the widest salary range of promotions - from a senior trooper to lieutenant colonel. This is, for illustrative purposes, indicative of the highest cost possible. It is highly unlikely promotions of this nature would occur.
The WV State Police operating budget has sufficient funds in its existing budget to cover this increase in the number of principle supervisors.
